Gastric Plication Operation
In Stomach Folding Surgery , the stomach or intestine is not cut. After the large side of the stomach is released, the stomach is collapsed by folding inward so that the volume is narrowed by non-absorbable sutures.
The advantage is that suture line leakage risk is lower because the stomach is not cut. However, it is not as effective as laparoscopic sleeve gastrectomy or by pass in terms of weight loss. May be preferred in people who do not have a high mass index (30-35).
